Iron man 2 is a movie about Tony Stark( Robert Downey Jr.), a billionaire who has just announced that he is Iron Man.  At first he is loving his new "superhero-statis"; but then the U.S. government decides he's is a danger and needs his armor.  Weapons manufacture Justin Hammer, insists that others are trying to build armor just like his to attack the U.S.
Later on, during a car race we meet the bad guy, Vanko (Mickey Rourke)  and he attacks Tony.
As in the first one Downey Jr. brings Tony's playboy genius personality to a likable extent while dominating this as a cross-genre action comedy.

Thor movie review

Directed by:Kenneth Branagh
Produced by:Kevin Feige
Distributed by:Paramount Pictures

REVIEW:  When you go to see a superhero movie you often think of some misfit who by some terrible accident, gains superpowers and then procedes to fight evil while wearing tights (in modern years it's been up dated to Kevlar and leather).  You don't however think of a ooutcasted God.  That is what Thor  is about.  At the beginning of the movie we are introduced to eccentric sientist Jane Foster (Natile Portman) and her team, the professional Eric Selvig (Stellan Skarsgård) and political science major Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings). They are out in the middle of the New Mexico desert.  when a freak storm appears.  Apparently they are looking for some sort of wormhole explained in too complex of terms for most viewers (Thor later draws laughs by saying it is a rainbow bridge but we'll get to tht later).  So as the storm appears thy drive staight into it when suddenly their RV runs into someone.
The poor soul hit by the car turns out to be Thor( Chris Hemsworth).
There is a flashback showing Thor's home, Asgard in all its glory.  We are then introduced to the Frost Giants who are attacking Asgard but are stoped by the "all father" Thor's daddy Odibn ( Anthony Hopkins) . After about fifteen minuets of useless explaining, fdone mostly to setup the characters personalities - oh and Loki(Tom Hiddleston), Thor's trickster half brother is introduced-, we flash forward to the future where Thor is about to be crowned king.  The cerimony is interupted by three rouge frost giants trying to take back what the Asgerdians stole from them.
Thor is enraged but Odin tells him to keep a calm heead.  Thor and Loki are later talking and then Loki tricks thor into disobeying Odins orders and going to the giants home world to exact revenge.  In a beautifully done fight sequence aimed to prove that this is a superheromoive about Gods Thor manages to easily kill most of the giants. When he ends up becoming out numbersed Odin, comes to the rescue.  He and Thor argue.  THe scene shows a perfect display of emotion and Hopkins proves well chosen for the role.   As the movie progresses Thor is banished to Earth and then brings us to the beginning.
Loki is now king and transforms into the villian.  Hiddleston does a wonderful job at making us feel bad for him while also hating him.

In all the film does an excellent job of capturing the magic as well as a few laughs.  Fans of the comic will enjoy special little tidbits and nods towards the Avengers movie out next spring.
